Welcome to the Leftist

Get your mind blown by the left-wing opinionated analysis I rock. Pragmatism has prevailed in Democratic circles, but I'm not prepared to accept that. Let's push things forward.

The Left is growing

But don't let the moderates stamp out our ideals. We cannot waste a moment in pushing this country left. Our generation is optimistic and idealistic; we can't lose another generation to cynicism.

My Future

My Future

As this year has gone on, I have realized that I needn’t worry about the future. There are tons of opportunities out there, and I’m pretty easy to please, so I’m certain I’ll be able to find something to do, a goal to work towards in life, and be wholly satisfied with it. I think the greatest challenge for me will be to make sure I’m doing all I can to positively affect change in this world.

This is something that often weighs heavily on my mind. When I’m low, sad, or slightly depressed (it never lasts long), it’s because I feel like I’m wasting my time, that if only I had taken a risk instead of taking an easier path, I’d be leveraging my abilities more effectively. Clearly, I aspire to great things, and my biggest fear is not doing everything that I could have.

What do I want to do? Well, I’m hitting up Virginia Tech for an M.A. in Political Science, then we’ll see where it goes from there. As of right now, I want to acquire more detailed files about politics, philosophy, society, etc. My goal is to have the knowledge and training to behave as a public intellectual. I think I’m pretty good at providing a vision, for whatever, whomever, wherever.

Teaching? Yeah that would be fine, probably very rewarding. Non-profit work? Seems good to me, too. Think tank? I could probably do that. Electoral Politics? Yeah that’s fun. I’ve done that a little bit before. Elected official? I’d like to do this very much, but only if I don’t have to sacrifice my idealism.

I just want to feel like I’ve led a fulfilling life. And I think I’m on the right track.
