Welcome to the Leftist

Get your mind blown by the left-wing opinionated analysis I rock. Pragmatism has prevailed in Democratic circles, but I'm not prepared to accept that. Let's push things forward.

The Left is growing

But don't let the moderates stamp out our ideals. We cannot waste a moment in pushing this country left. Our generation is optimistic and idealistic; we can't lose another generation to cynicism.

I think I need to change my blog name

What do you think? I’m sure it’s what I stand for, and believe in, based on Mark Z Danielewski’s book, Only Revolutions, but this may be plagiarism, and if the blog takes off, I would hate to have a plagiarized name everywhere.

Hmm.

The thing is, I bet, if I asked MZD, he would probably be like, “yeah, that’s a little too political.”

But you see, I respect art, especially literature. I was intrigued by House of Leaves and absolutely fell in love with Only Revolutions.

Lately, I’ve been having an identity crisis. I keep wrestling with the merits of Enlightenment and early 20th century American thought and their applicability to the new social situation. It appears that there are some movements gaining momentum in America that are seeking to reestablish the promise of ideals. But they are using the medium envisioned by the postmoderns as something dark, manipulative, and yet empowering.

Anyway, this post is going nowhere, just know that I’m struggling to decide if I should pursue my interests (postmodernism and its consequences on the possibility of social change), or my here-and-now less despairing and less revolutionary moral responsibility (waging war against the corporate Republican machine using the tools of Democracy) and crossing my fingers, and hoping for the best when it comes to the new generation of progressives.

So I’m thinking, as usual. And I need to read another crazy novel to beef up my writing skills, and humor level.

If you’re cynical, “you can lick my dickface.” Don’t worry, I didn’t say that, but it was funny.
