On Friday September 24, 2010 Runner Runner rocked the Pullo Center in York, PA, along with other up and coming top 40 artists including Hot Chelle Rae, The Ready Set, Shontelle, and David Archuletta.
Never heard of Runner Runner before? Well don’t run away.
Runner Runner consists of five friends: Ryan on vocals, Nick on guitar, Peter on guitar and vocals, Jon on Bass and James on drums. In early 2010 the band became the first band signed to David Letterman’s record label Clear Entertainment/C.E. Music.
Their pop/punk sound is absolutely infectious when they perform. They’re almost two different bands combined into one. On one hand, their music and lyrics especially have a very pop vibe that would lend itself very well on MTV or any local top 40 radio station. Then, their personalities are reminiscent of a local band or some smaller indie band.
The meaning behind their name is hopefully some foreshadowing for how this band’s career is going to go. The term “runner runner” comes from poker and means something to the effect of coming out of nowhere and pulling off a winning hand at the last possible moment.
