A combination of violins, violas, and cellos has never sounded as exquisitely delightful as on the evening of September 20.
Chamber Music on the Hill presented the afternoon of Sunday, September 20, the second concert of the 2015-2016 season. The title of this concert was “Music Hath Charm,” a name so adequately given.
The program for the concert, though simple in nature, included Luigi Boccherini’s Sextet in f minor, G. 457—one of the rare pieces specifically composed for a string sextet—and Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence, Op. 70.

The sextet included the exceptional talents of Steven Thomas and Daniel Levitov in the cellos, Renate Falkner and Karin Brown in the violas, and special guests Brent Price and Christian Simmelink in the violins.
The performance was beautiful and it had the perfect blend of sound and dynamics. In addition to that, the proximity of the performers to the public added an element of intimacy and elegance.
Chamber Music on the Hill brings this kind of experience to the public as an effort to cultivate the love for music among the community—especially the youth of the community.

The next concert by Chamber Music on the Hill is titled “A Night of Opera and Art Song,” which will take place in the Forum of Decker College Center the evening of November 1 at 7pm.
