Josh Hisle is a Marine veteran who served two tours in Iraq, and has played with Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Graham Nash; has been interviewed on CNN, HuffPost Live and Anderson Cooper, and was featured in the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young anti-war film “Deja Vu.”
Hisle will be in Baltimore performing songs based around the struggles faced by veterans every day, highlighting the battle that is their suffering, and the lack of attention given to those who serve in our military when they return.
Josh was instrumental in founding the Veterans Initiative at Common Ground on the Hill, which is dedicated to provide a space for these young men and women to speak about their experiences on the battlefield. The initiative is a way to give easy access to a forum in which they can join in open dialogue, confronting and solving issues many veterans face when they come home.
According to Common Ground on the Hill, The Veterans Initiative gives “a safe space for veterans to grow and to share, to process their experience and to teach others, while gaining a new perspective from their peers at the summer workshops,” workshops steeped in the arts, provided free of charge by Common Ground on the Hill.
