The Free Press staff is saddened by the tragic news of the passing of student Justine Tinnin. This sudden loss is a shock to the entire McDaniel community. It is difficult to know how to continue business as usual while struggling with fresh grief, so let us not. Let us not push past this sudden loss and instead pause to reflect and remember a phenomenal individual.
A vivacious and determined student, Justine never allowed obstacles to halt her path to success. She was a senior sociology major who brought strong and thoughtful opinions to class. Sharp minded, she had a wealth of insightful ideas to share with the world.
While we grieve the loss of our community member, we should also take time to celebrate the life of a beloved mother, daughter and friend. Justine spread laughter and joy to those around her. Her academic tenacity was, and continues to be, inspirational. The positivity and strength she brought to us was unmatched. The love for her family and friends was unconditional. Justine will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her character lives on in the memories and hearts of those who love her.
It is asked that you keep her daughter Camille Symone Price and other family members in your prayers and thoughts. For students who wish to send condolences to her family, the sociology department will be collecting cards all week. You can email Dr.Lemke (dlemke@mcdaniel.edu) or stop by the suite on the second floor of Lewis Recitation Hall.
