In an email sent out to faculty this morning, President Casey informed the McDaniel community that Mike Hoyt has stepped down from his position as head football coach. He was the 24th football coach in McDaniel’s history.
Athletic Director Paul Moyer is quoted in the email saying “Mike’s commitment to our students and his personal involvement in preparing them to be leaders, not only on the field but in life after college, has been of great importance to our athletes. He will be especially missed by our student-athletes for his personal dedication and one-on-one mentoring. We thank him for that service.”
Hoyt spent the past four seasons as head coach after taking over for Tim Keating in 2012. He accumulated three wins and coached four All-Centennial Conference players, three with multiple nominations.
The college is currently looking into naming a new coach.
