Are you ever sitting in your room thinking to yourself, “I wish there was something to do on this campus…” You’d actually be surprised at how much there is, that you may not know about. Join a club, hit up a free event hosted by Green Terror Productions; you could even start your own club if you don’t find what you are looking for! All you have to do is look and you will find that the choices are endless.
Now I know that the semester is slowly coming to an end, so why get involved now. We all know this can be a very stressful time of the year. Every class decides to make papers, tests, and presentations come at exactly the same time. I know I’m in the same boat. This is why you need to get out and get involved in something that interests you. Having that one club or activity really makes a difference in your ability to get things done, release some of the stress that builds up from classes, and think about something different for a change.
Maybe joining a club isn’t your thing, but it should be. If you are someone who just complains about there not being anything fun on campus, you have no room to talk. Go out and fix it! There are many ways to get your thoughts out, even if you do not join a club. Joining is of course the best option. If you are worried about not making meetings, you can still join. Clubs and organizations are always looking for input from students. The campus is always looking for ideas to make students have more fun. Campus announcements sends out an email, every day at 3:05pm, that is full of ways to get involved without needing to be committed to any weekly meetings.
Why join now? It seems almost pointless to join something with the semester dwindling down, but what you don’t know is that many clubs are taking the end of the semester to plan for next year, so it is actually the perfect time to join clubs and organizations. As a member of green terror productions, we spend the second half of the semester planning what we think the campus will enjoy. If you think you have the next big idea why not stop on by? We always want new and exciting things. If clubs continuously get the same members, you will constantly see the same events on campus. Let’s be honest, we are all greedy and stubborn students. One thing we like to do is bring things that we will want to see/do, not always thinking about the entire campus. When new people join, it brings a more diverse sense of what the campus will enjoy.
So go out, get involved, and help make this campus more enjoyable for everyone, especially you!
