This week Dan and Elec face competition from Senior Greg Nolen. Greg is a History major and Journalism minor, who has been writing for The Free Press for two years. He enjoys writing, watching sports on TV, and would like to be a sports reporter someday.
Sunday, September 27th
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Dallas Cowboys
Dan Thinks: After last weeks controversy, the Bucs will continue playing hard and scrap out a win in Dallas.
Buccaneers 21 Cowboys 17
Elec Thinks: I don’t trust Romo and his inconsistency. He will play up or down to competition. That cost him this week.
Buccaneers 24 Cowboys 10
Greg Thinks: Greg Schiano’s “Play till the whistle blows” attitude has Tampa on the rise, and they’ll respond by beating a Dallas team that went sleepless in Seattle last weekend.
Buccaneers 24 Cowboys 17
Jacksonville Jaguars at Indianapolis Colts
Dan Thinks: Reggie Wayne will show Andrew Luck why he is the target receiver and have a huge game for the Colts.
Jaguars 21 Colts 28
Elec Thinks: Luck has a coming out party against the lowly Jaguars.
Jaguars 14 Colts 31
Greg Thinks: Andrew Luck has more talent around him then Blaine Gabbert, and will prevail in this battle of young QB’s.
Jaguars 16 Colts 28
Buffalo Bills at Cleveland Browns
Dan Thinks: The Brown’s always manage to keep a game close but can never pull out a win in the end, this streak will unfortunately continue for them this week.
Bills 21 Browns 17
Elec Thinks: The Brown’s struggles will continue, but they will keep it close as usual.
Bills 24 Browns 21
Greg Thinks: CJ Spiller continues his hot start and leads the Bills past a Browns team looking for answers at key offensive positions.
Bills 20 Browns 16
New York Jets at Miami Dolphins
Dan Thinks: If the Jets from Week 1 show up then they will cruise to a victory despite allowing a big day for Reggie Bush.
Jets 35 Dolphins 24
Elec Thinks: These two teams are bound for a rollercoaster season. Depends which teams show up this game.
Jets 27 Dolphins 17
Greg Thinks: Ryan Tannehill leads his young Dolphins past the offensively challenged Jets as the calls for Tim Tebow grow louder in New York.
Jets 14 Dolphins 24
Kansas City Chiefs at New Orleans Saints
Dan Thinks: The Saints are not as bad of a team as they have shown this season and Drew Brees will lead his team to their first win.
Chiefs 21 Saints 42
Elec Thinks: If the Saints lose to the Chiefs, Sean Payton deserves a pay raise when he gets back from suspension.
Chiefs 10 Saints 35
Greg Thinks: Kansas City runs past a Saints defense that hasn’t been able to stop anyone this season.
Chiefs 38 Saints 35
Cincinnati Bengals at Washington Redskins
Dan Thinks: These two offensively minded teams will put on quite a display in Washington this weekend, but the Redskins will come out on top.
Bengals 28 Redskins 42
Elec Thinks: A few years ago, this game would be laughable. No ones laughing now with these two new QB’s leading the way
Bengals 24 Redskins 28
Greg Thinks: RGIII beats out Andy Dalton in this offensive shootout between young QB’s at FedEx Field.
Bengals 31 Redskins 35
Saint Louis Rams at Chicago Bears
Dan Thinks: The Bears need a win this week and their strong defense will make up for their slacking offense.
Rams 14 Bears 24
Elec Thinks: After Jay Cutler’s dismal performance last week, the Bears need a win to gain back some confidence.
Rams 17 Bears 24
Greg Thinks: Riding high after beating Washington, St. Louis goes into the Windy City and beats a Bears team facing questions about Jay Cutler’s leadership.
Rams 21 Bears 16
San Francisco 49ers at Minnesota Vikings
Dan Thinks: The 49ers will continue their stellar season as they are looking like a complete team with a tight defense and Alex Smith looking sharp.
49ers 28 Vikings-17
Elec Thinks: The 49er defense will have a great day against the struggling Vikings offense.
49ers 30 Vikings 9
Greg Thinks: The Niners are possibly the best team in the NFL right now, and they’ll wear out a young Vikings squad in the Metrodome.
49ers 35 Vikings 10
Detroit Lions at Tennessee Titans
Dan Thinks: The Lions will march out of Tennessee with a victory after an all around excellent game for them.
Lions 28 Titans 10
Elec Thinks: Matt Stafford is going to have to play on top of his game or the Titans could surprise Detroit.
Lions 28 Titans 15
Greg Thinks: Megatron leads an explosive Lions offense over a Titans team that is struggling on both sides of the ball.
Lions 31 Titans 7
Atlanta Falcons at San Diego Chargers
Dan Thinks: The Falcons have looked good this season and return from the west coast, with a victory under their belt, on a last minute win.
Falcons 31 Chargers 28
Elec Thinks: Both teams are playing great football. I’m giving this to the home team, since the Falcons have to travel across the country.
Falcons 16 Chargers 21
Greg Thinks: In an offensive battle that should be fun to watch, Phillip Rivers outduels Matty Ice and leads the Chargers to the win at home.
Falcons 38 Chargers 41
Philadelphia Eagles at Arizona Cardinals
Dan Thinks: The Eagles need to bounce back and have a mistake free week to prove that they can. Mike Vick and LeSean McCoy will each have a much better week and we will see the real Eagles team.
Eagles 34 Cardinals 17
Elec Thinks: Before Last week, I would have said Eagles win easy. But the Cards beat up New England, so this one’s tough. Still have faith Vick and Philly get it done.
Eagles 30 Cardinals 10
Greg Thinks: Riding high after upending the Pats in New England, Arizona does it again against a struggling Eagles offense.
Eagles 17 Cardinals 21
Pittsburgh Steelers at Oakland Raiders
Dan Thinks: With Troy Polamalu and James Harrison likely out for the game, the Steelers defense gets a lot less scary and could allow Oakland steal a win.
Steelers 17 Raiders 20
Elec Thinks: Steelers have been quite so far this season. But I suspect they take another step closer to the playoffs with a win in Oakland.
Steelers 24 Raiders 13
Greg Thinks: While the Steelers offense has been struggling, their defense will key a win over the Raiders in Oakland.
Steelers 24 Raiders 20
Houston Texans at Denver Broncos
Dan Thinks: This will be a great matchup as Peyton Manning will bounce back from his rough game last week, but it won’t be enough to overcome Matt Schaub and the Texans.
Texans 34 Broncos 28
Elec Thinks: I suspect Manning leads his team back from a rough week last Monday and picks up the win in a great game.
Texans 23 Broncos: 27
Greg Thinks: This isn’t the same Texans team Peyton Manning remembers beating up on as a Colt.
Texans 30 Broncos 24
New England Patriots at Baltimore Ravens
Dan Thinks: Both of these teams are better teams than they have displayed so far this season, but the Patriots will get their offense together and come out on top.
Patriots 24 Ravens 17
Elec Thinks: This rematch of the AFC championship from a year ago will be a great back and forth game. Flacco could be key to this one.
Patriots 27 Ravens 34
Greg Thinks: If Baltimore is ever going to get back to the Super Bowl, they have to beat the Pats.
Patriots 13 Ravens 16
Monday, September 27th
Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks
Dan Thinks: No one should sleep on the Seahawks, but the Packers will bounce back after some disappointing showings and prove they are a contender.
Packers 38 Seahawks 17
Elec Thinks: I have faith in the Seahawks, they will be a surprise team this year, just not this week.
Packers 31 Seahawks 20
Greg Thinks: This isn’t the Packers team that went 15-1 last year, and Russell Wilson is looking like the best QB from this year’s draft class.
Packers 20 Seahawks 23
