Matt Mummert is a junior on the lacrosse team has high hopes for the 2010 season. His goals for this season are to return to the Centennial Conference playoffs, and continue onto the NCAA playoffs. Mummert, a three year starter on the team, plays long pole midfield. He owes a big part of his success thus far in his college career to his strong support system of family and teammates. Mummert’s younger brother, a freshman, Andrew Mummert is also on the lacrosse team this season. Matt and Andrew are keeping their love for the game lacrosse, and hardworking lifestyles in the family.
Women’s Softball
Bethann Fusco is a junior on the Terror softball team this season. Though Fusco is an all around great athlete on the field, she specializes in two positions, second base and short stop. Fusco’s proudest moment as a college athlete was, “when we played Messiah last year, who eventually went on to win the D3 NCAA national championship. We ended up losing 2-0, but as a team we played well and proved to ourselves that we could compete with anybody,” she explains. Because this year’s team is older and more experienced, Fusco has set high standards and hopes for the 2010 season. Fusco is also looking forward to being able to play beside her younger sister, a sophomore, Lauren Fusco this year. Lauren, who didn’t see much playing time last season because of a shoulder injury has recovered and is likely to get more playing time this season. As a dominating duo, the Fusco sisters will be a hard force to stop.
