When you walk into room 302 in Whiteford, a homey yet modern feel greets you.
It is the room of Alex Roman and Kathleen Phelan. Upon entering the room, there is a small table with pictures and trinkets from home neatly presented to remind them of fond memories. On one side of the room, Kathleen’s side, you find a nice blue bed set, accompanied by a few stuffed animals from home. There are shoes neatly placed in an organizer and everything is nicely put away in its home.
Across the way on Alex’s half, you will find many pictures from home, as well as an array of horse and nature posters. You will also find pictures hanging from the ceiling of her horses and friends.
At the end of their room rests a nice flat screen television, and the whole room is brought together by a neutral white carpet. The room is well organized and has provided Alex and Kathleen with a nice homey feel all year long.
Alex and Kathleen have grown to be close friends throughout the year and when asked if they were going to room together next year they both responded, “Yes.”
You will find Alex and Kathleen in their new room next year in A&W; hopefully it will have the same homey feel.

They say, “a picture is worth a thousand words;” and the pictures of these rooms are worth way more. Between the chaos and the disarray it is an open space of sanity.
This is the room of Spencer Brown and Alex Deily.
Spencer’s side is on the right. When you walk into the room you see a wetsuit, and a snowboard jacket. Spencer scuba dives and snowboards. You pass the open dresser drawers packed full of clothes he never wears because Spencer is in ROTC and all throughout the room is a bunch of camouflaged stuff. Most of it is Lucas Grays, who lives on the floor below. Above Spencer’s bed is a large black flag. It states, “Mess with the best, die like the rest.” It is for the United States Army Special Forces. Spencer golfs every now and then and has a small set of clubs near the window.
Then comes the calm and serenity…
Alex’s side is equivalent to that of a homeless person’s cart. As you first walk in you will notice the door will not open all the way. This is due to the mound of clothes that have not been washed since last semester. Next you see a dresser with the rooms lone TV on top of it. The TV is used for the Xbox 360 with their game of choice as NHL 09. This could confuse most people because who cares about hockey, right? Anyway, we continue to the bed that also has clothes piled on it. Many people ask what the edge of the universe holds, much like I wonder what is under Alex’s bed. As we move onto his desk, a large computer monitor is used for various games and facebooking. (by the way I just made up the term facebooking up, I think we college students use it in our everyday lingo.)
The community fridge is baron and the microwave rarely used. That s why it is hard to find in their room, tucked away into a back corner.
This room is truly every parents worst nightmare and is one of McDaniels best McCribs.
