When it turned 11:00 p.m. ET, as the polls in California closed, Barack Obama became the president-elect of the United States of America. The country, the nation, indeed the world celebrated, rejoiced. It was a proud day for America, and the luster is sure to not wash away anytime soon. We shall be a city on a hill.
The McDaniel campus was no exception, as students gathered in the pub to watch Obama’s acceptance speech, and in Red Square to celebrate with each other, as the country elected its first black president.
