World Tourism Day is established!
By Christine Boynton, Commentary Co-Editor
In recognition of World Tourism Day, this former study abroad student highly recommends taking a trip to the Study Abroad office in Hill Hall 105. Sign up for an informational meeting with our resident Director of International and Off-Campus Study, Rose Falkner.
According to Falkner, “Study abroad prepares students to live in a global society and appreciate perspectives, values, and ways of life that are different from their own. When students participate in a study abroad experience, they embark on a journey that will change their worldview – even change their lives!”
As a former study abroad student myself (London, spring 2007) I can attest to the truth of this statement. Even with my high expectations going into the overseas program, I never imagined how incredible the experience would be.
So don’t miss your opportunity to study abroad – it can be a life altering experience! At least take the time to check out the programs offered – you may be surprised by the options that are available, including affiliated programs on six continents.
